Meet the 2023 Texas Aimbots Hero

Following the 2022 RMNA competition, the Hero team endeavored to redesign various aspects of our robot in order to enhance its performance.

The biggest improvement that was made during the 2023 competition was to the drivetrain. With the team transitioning from a mecanum drive with chassis suspension to a suspension-less omni-wheel X-drive, this drastic change improved the robot's maneuverability and control.

Additionally, the Hero team introduced a dual-motor yaw module to facilitate rotational movement of the gimbal. This innovation contributed to the robot's precision and adaptability.

Another improvement came with the integration of a kicker wheel into the ball path, leading to more consistent ball propulsion. The team also relocated the hopper, which decreased the turret's moment of inertia and improved the robot's stability and agility.

A practical modification was the addition of spaces at the bottom of the agitator to allow for the smooth exit of 17mm projectiles, preventing potential jams. This adjustment enhanced the robot's reliability during operation.
